Academy side make it four in a row

14 October 2023

Sutton's academy side moved level on points with league leaders Wimbledon after shrugging off the first half dismissal of Dan Urpens to beat Northampton by the only goal of the game and move above their opponents in to second place in the EFL Youth Alliance South East Division

Urpens was shown a red card for bringing down a Northampton player who was through on goal and denying him a goalscoring opportunity, but Sutton were undeterred and in the second half James Fennelow, like Urpens eligible for the Under 16s team, scored for the fourth game in a row to secure a fourth consecutive league and cup win and move U's alongside Wimbledon, who were beaten at home by Luton, and behind them only on goal difference.
