A stoppage time goal from Joden Trickett earned our academy side a 2-2 draw at MK Dons on Saturday morning and extended the team's unbeaten record to five games going in to Tuesday night's FA Youth Cup tie at Colchester.
U's led at half time through Khyan Edwards as he met Cameron Sullivan's right wing corner with a fine glancing header at the near post, but struggled to find top form for spells of the game and looked to be heading home pointless when MK equalised ten minutes from time, and scored a second with three minutes of the ninety to go. However in the third minute of stoppage time Trickett drilled a low free kick from the left through a crowded penalty area and in to the net to earn the draw. The result leaves U's two points behind leaders AFC Wimbledon, who won 4-3 at Leyton Orient.
Tuesday's game at Colchester is a 7pm kick off. Admission prices are £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and ages 14-18, £2 for ages 8-13 and £1 for under 8s.
Colchester's youth team play in the South Group of the Professional Development League, where they went in to the weekend in eighth place in a ten team division.
