Mehmet Halim has joined Isthmian League South Central Division side Leatherhead on a dual registration deal.
The Tanners currently top the division after losing just one of their opening 17 games – a 1-0 defeat to Hartley Wintney back in September – and maintain a two point gap to second place Westfield ahead of tonight’s clash with Hayes & Yeading United.
Halim signed from West Ham United at the end of a two-year scholarship at the London Stadium, having established himself as a highly rated forward, and has so far been a regular in the EFL Youth Alliance and the South Division of the National League Under-19 Alliance.
His performances under Jimmy Dack and Glen Nichols has also seen him rise into the first team during the season, training with under both Steve Morison and Chris Agutter on a handful of occasions, and also saw him earn his senior debut for the club in a defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the National League Cup.
He has also been named on the bench twice this season, away at Altrincham and at home to FC Halifax Town.
Leatherhead will have been looking to bolster their ranks as they entertain Hayes & Yeading tonight, searching for a 14th win overall this season as they aim to extend their stay at the top of the eighth tier.
Best of luck, Mehmet!
