The Sutton United CP team recently took the opportunity for a weekend away at Burton-on-Trent for the National CP Cup competition at St George’s Park, which marked the end of the teams’ very first season.
Although they narrowly missed out on qualifying for the latter stages, the squad had already won the National CP League Shield with their results in the league programme, the trophy for which they were duly presented with at St George’s, following on from an successful afternoon in Staffordshire, playing some fabulous football on the day and impressing even with the smallest squad present.
They also received a surprise second trophy – the CP League Endeavour award, given in recognition of the squads’ achievements and commitment in their very first season in the league, marking a great end to their debut campaign.
Coach Glenn May said he was “particularly pleased with this award as it’s a great reflection of the whole club’s work and backing of the new CP squad”.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
