Sutton United CP began life with an impressive run to the semi-final of the Spurs CP Super Cup, taking place at Tottenham Hotspur’s Training Ground in Enfield, North London.

The newly-formed Sutton Utd CP team took on their first ever event on Saturday, 21st June in a cup competition with leading teams coming from around the country, and proved to be a very successful day for the club, reaching the semi-final and only losing narrowly to Norwich City, the eventual tournament winners and currently probably the strongest CP side in the country. Sutton put in a very good showing considering they had never played or trained together before, securing three wins out of four in Group B to make it to the knockout stage.

The squad consisted of five international players including two who flew in from Italy, with Italian CP Internationals Leonardo Nacci and Italian captain Andrea Valenti signing up for the U’s, along with Will Ramsey, one of England’s top players, who scored four goals after confirming his arrival at Sutton.

The team showed a lot of promise and the players gelled very quickly, shaking up a few established National League CP teams to reach the Semi-Final, where they were defeated 2-0 by Norwich City.

With more players looking to join and our numbers are growing rapidly, we can also confirm that an open trials day will take place in July. Our intention is to enter the National CP League, and at the moment things are looking very promising for Sutton United CP.
