Goal A
Brandon Njoku vs Farnham Town – 11th October
The second goal of the Chris Agutter era saw Brandon Njoku level things up against Farnham Town, not for the first time in the afternoon.
After some superb work from Jayden Harris to outmuscle Mat Mackenzie, the midfielder threaded a ball through to David Ogbonna who teed up Njoku for a simple tap-in to cancel out Owen Dean’s goal moments earlier.
Goal B
Jayden Harris vs Farnham Town – 11th October
Jayden Harris scored the crucial last-minute goal at the Memorial Ground to take the FA Cup tie to Extra Time, setting up the U’s path to the First Round proper.
Despite it looking like the Southern League side were about to cause a cup upset, one last attack on the left flank saw Edon Pruti drill a ball out to Brandon Njoku who took an excellent touch to evade Joe Jackson and race to the byline, with his cross giving Harris the chance to keep the U’s in the cup as a powerful finish left nothing to chance.
Goal C
Lewis Simper vs Farnham Town – 14th October
With Harris’ goal securing a replay against Farnham, this led to another goal-fest between the U’s and the Town; one of them being scored by Lewis Simper.
After Bobby-Joe Taylor has given the Southern League side the lead in the first half, Simper drew his side level after David Ogbonna’s low delivery was blocked into the path of the midfielder, who arrowed a rocket of a shot into the top corner just after the hour-mark.
Goal D
Will Tizzard vs Farnham Town – 14th October
Lewis Simper and David Ogbonna had kept Sutton in a topsy-turvy clash with Farnham, but the 11th and final goal of the two-legged tie fell to the U’s, who finally took the advantage over the Town in the final minute of Extra Time.
Ogbonna laid the ball off to Simper whoh brilliantly danced around the Town backline before feeding Ashley Nadesan, with the former Gillingham forward picking out Tizzard with a first-time pass. While the defender seemed to be a long way from home, he found acres of space in the box, firing a low effort past Zaki Oualah with seconds to go, and finally seeing Sutton get the better of the Surrey-side.
Goal E
Lewis Simper vs Hartlepool United – 18th October
Lewis Simper gave Sutton the lead in a league game for the first time under Chris Agutter, as well as for the first time since the defeat to Altrincham at the start of September, with a superb team goal.
Finishing off one of the U’s best pieces of football so far this season, Harry Phipps drilled a low ball towards the left flank which David Ogbonna delightfully flicked into the path of the onrushing Jayden Harris down the left, with his pull back being hammered home first time by Simper.
Goal F
Emma Spear vs Barking Women – 19th October
Emma Spear opened the scoring after just four minutes against Barking Women when she finished off a tremendous counter-attack at Mayesbrook Park.
A fine Gabby Williams played a pass split the Blues’ defence and allowed Spear to latch onto it, before finishing with a shot in to the top corner that flew past the advancing goalkeeper.
Goal G
Noa Boutin vs West Ham United – 21st October
Sutton took the lead for the first time in the National League Cup this season when Noa Boutin headed home his first goal of his loan spell from AFC Bournemouth.
A raking long ball from Jack Wadham was misjudged by Airidas Golambeckis and landed at the feet of Aaron Jones, playing on the opposite flank from his more familiar position at right wing-back, before cutting inside and sending a delightful cross towards the back post where Boutin was well-placed to head past Krisztián Hegyi.
Goal H
Kai Jennings vs Wealdstone – 25th October
Kai Jennings notched a debut goal just 20 minutes into his maiden Sutton outing, and came just a day after signing for the U’s, along with having just one training session under his belt.
After Lewis Simper had given Sutton the lead in fortuitous fashion just eight minutes earlier, the U’s led by two for the first time this season when Noa Boutin and Simper combined well on the right flank before the latter’s inside pass allowed Jennings to produce a brilliant bit of skill to turn past Alex Dyer, before firing a low effort into the bottom corner to win the hearts of his new fanbase immediately.
Goal I
Charlie Bell vs Guildford City – 29th October
Charlie Bell added to his impressive array of goals during the early part of his Sutton career, with his third strike for the club coming in arguably his best individual performance to date.
Having run the show throughout the U’s first Surrey Senior Cup outing of the campaign, Bell got onto the scoresheet when Junior Eccleston and Alex Woodyard recycled the ball back into the centre of the pitch from the right flank, with the latter teeing up the young midfielder who drilled a pinpoint effort from distance towards the bottom corner that gave Guildford City goalkeeper Mason Whitnell no chance.
Goal J
Brandon Njoku vs Guildford City – 29th October
The fifth and final goal of Sutton’s successful Surrey Senior Cup First Round, Brandon Njoku made amends for his earlier penalty miss by notching two goals against Guildford City in the second half.
A wonderful cross-field pass from Charlie Bell picked out George Vorster, appearing for the first time alongside the rest of the First Team, who got the ball under control before threading it through to Njoku, who went on a brilliant weaving run to evade the Guildford backline before sending a deflected effort past Mason Whitnell with just a few minutes to go.
