Goal A – Will Davies vs York City (second) – 18th January

Will Davies’ first half brace at his old stomping ground secured a first National League win of 2025 for Sutton and shocked title hopefuls York City, and it was his second that will surely receive the most plaudits.

After heading Sutton ahead just nine minutes earlier, the former Minsterman added a second in spectacular fashion with a powerful, thumping effort that flew past York goalkeeper Harrision Male. Nadesan was initially unable to control a long ball from deep from Josh Coley, but his mis-control caught Malachi Fagan-Walcott out and allowed the ball to fall into the path of Davies, who picked it up on the edge of the box before unleashing a rocket of a shot that flew into the top corner.

Goal B – Lewis Simper vs Gateshead – 15th February

A goal that will need no introduction!

A breathtaking Lewis Simper strike wasn’t quite enough to secure a fantastic comeback win in the North-East, as late goals from Luke Hannant and Jack Roles turned the game on its head for a second time to restore Gateshead’s advantage. The plaudits will nonetheless be awarded to the Sutton midfielder, as a long ball from Jack Sims was cleared as far as Jack Wadham who knocked the ball down to Simper, who fired a ridiculous volley from 35-yards that swerved and looped towards the top corner, flying past Harrison Bond who had no chance.

Goal C – Lewis Simper vs Yeovil Town – 26th April

Lewis Simper scored his final goal of the 2024/25 season with another fantastic hit from distance to add to his earlier assist away at Yeovil Town.

A Ryan Jackson throw-in was headed back into the middle of the pitch and into the path of Simper by Frankie Terry, allowing the Sutton midfielder to latch onto the loose ball before firing a powerful low effort from 25-yards that gave Stone no chance.

Goal D – Edon Pruti vs Boreham Wood – 3rd September

While it proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal, Edon Pruti struck arguably the goal of the night with seconds remaining.

A dramatic end to the clash with Boreham Wood saw three goals scored in the final five minutes plus added time, the last of which saw Pruti send a powerful low drive from about 35-yards out past Nathan Ashmore to once again reduce the deficit to one goal.

Goal E – Charlie Bell vs Yeovil Town – 30th September

A cracking strike from Charlie Bell saw him end the month with two goals in the space of a week; his second no doubt an even better hit on his maiden Sutton goal.

A lovely team move saw Brandon Njoku get the ball under control before spreading it out to Dillon De Silva who’s cross towards the back post was picked up by Aaron Jones, who kept the chance alive by sending the ball back into the middle. Ashley Nadesan tried a first-time volley which was blocked into the path of Bell, who arrowed a thunderous effort off the underside of the crossbar and into the top corner to level things up against the Glovers.

Goal F – David Ogbonna vs AFC Telford United – 1st November

David Ogbonna broke the dead lock five minutes before half time, paving the way for Sutton to dispatch of National League North side AFC Telford United in the Emirates FA Cup First Round.

A left wing move that looked to have fizzled out was revived as Junior Eccleston played in Jayden Harris on the left, and his low cross was deftly flicked home by Ogbonna, a strike made better by a backflip celebration, giving Sutton a crucial lead at the VBS Community Stadium on his return from injury.

Goal G – Kai Jennings vs Truro City (first) – 22nd November

Kai Jennings added a second goal for Sutton with a rocket of a shot that gave Dan Lavercombe no chance, doubling their lead away at Truro City

The U’s came out at the start of the second half determined to press home their one-goal advantage; Osman Foyo dispossessed Zac Bell to race clear and power in a shot which Lavercombe tipped over, but then, after Foyo and Simper had found the way to goal blocked in the penalty area, Hayden Muller laid the ball back to Jennings to shoot first time in to the top far corner of the net.

Goal H – Kai Jennings vs Truro City (second) – 22nd November

On-loan midfielder Kai Jennings continued his impressive run of form, particularly in front of goal, by sealing a brace late on against Truro; the third and final goal in a topsy-turvy affair that saw the Tinners come back from 2-0 down to level moments earlier through a couple of Lirak Hasani strikes.

A repeat of the Wealdstone outcome would have been U’s supporters’ fears, but two minutes later Brandon Njoku was put in on the right and pulled back a cross which was eventually laid back by Lewis Simper to Jennings, who took a touch before volleying powerfully home from the edge of the penalty area and restoring Sutton’s lead which this time they held.

Goal I – Lewis Simper vs Gateshead – 29th November

Lewis Simper adding another outstanding strike to his showreel, giving Sutton the lead early on in the second half as Sutton swept past Gateshead.

The first five minutes of the second half proved the decisive period as the U’s came out from the break on the front foot, and within 30 seconds of the restart Jake Taylor, Simper and Jayden Harris linked well to release Junior Eccleston on the right and he laid the ball back to Simper, who won last season’s Goal of the Season with an effort against Gateshead and who set up the possibility of a repeat result with a stunning dipping, curling shot from 25 yards out.

Goal J – Kai Jennings vs Shrewsbury Town – 6th December

Kai Jennings continued his fine run of form by producing an Olimpico of the highest quality against League Two side Shrewsbury Town.

While in the end it wasn’t enough to secure Sutton’s passage into the Emirates FA Cup Third Round, the on-loan Wimbledon midfielder deservedly won all the plaudits when his corner drifted over Will Brook and landed in the corner of the net, sending the home fans into raptures in front of the TNT Sport and BBC Sport cameras.
