Kane Crichlow, Dillon De Silva and Jay Coombes have all received international call-ups for the upcoming September international break.
Newly-signed midfielder Crichlow will join up with the Bermuda squad for the final round of the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers against Jamaica (Friday, 5th September) and Curaçao (Tuesday, 9th September), receiving a recall to the squad after missing out on the Gombey Warriors’ two victories over Cayman Islands and Cuba back in June.
Kyle Lightbourne’s side finished second in Group A in the Second Round with seven points, and move on to the Third Round, where they have been drawn into Group B alongside Jamaica, Curaçao and Trinidad & Tobago, with the FIFA World Cup finals set to take place in 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
De Silva’s Sri Lanka take on the Maldives in South Asia’s most thrilling derby, with two friendlies – dubbed the South Asian Super Cup – set to take place at the Racecourse Stadium in Colombo on Saturday, 6th September and Tuesday, 9th September.
The Golden Army continue their preparation ahead of the October Asia Cup Qualification Play-Offs, with Abdullah Al Mutairi’s side facing Turkmenistan across two legs on Thursday, 14th October and Tuesday, 18th October, with De Silva notching one goal and two assists in their last batch of games against Thailand and Chinese Taipei to see them sit third in Group D, three points behind their October opponents who currently top the group.
The 2027 AFC Asia Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia.
Finally, Academy defender Jay Coombes has been selected by Gibraltar for the upcoming Euro Under-21 Qualifiers.
Los Llanis are set to kick-start their qualifying campaign with games against Bulgaria and Czech Republic, with Coombes to join up with the squad ahead of the two games, which takes place on Friday, 5th September and Tuesday, 9th September.
Gibraltar have been drawn in Group B alongside Portugal, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Scotland and Azerbaijan and will be looking to qualify for the finals for the first time, with the tournament to take place in 2027 in Albania and Serbia.
The defender is the only overseas player to be selected by Gibraltar alongside Repton’s Amos Federico.
Good luck, lads!
