Two players from Sutton’s Women’s team have been selected for international duty ahead of the upcoming November break.

K’Shaela Burch-Waldron has received a recall to the Bermuda team for their Gold Cup qualifying campaign, with the Gombey Warriors looking to build on their success in the Island Games last summer.

Bermuda have been drawn into Group C of the qualifying stage for the CONCACAF alongside Costa Rica, Guatemala, Grenada and Cayman Islands, and prepare for their first couple of of qualifiers against Cayman Islands (Thursday, 27th November; 7pm KO ET) and Guatemala (Monday, 1st December; 8pm KO ET).

They have taken part in Caribbean qualifying tournaments several times, but have never qualified for the finals of the competition despite coming closest in 2010 and 2018, and will be aiming to create a bit of history ahead of the next tournament, taking place this time next year.

In addition, Hannah Baptiste has been selected by the Guyana squad ahead of their own set of CONCACAF qualifiers, having been placed in Group B alongside Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominica and Antigua & Barbuda.

The Golden Jaguars are set for a single match against Nicaragua on Monday, 1st December; 6pm KO ET) at the Leonora National Track & Field Center, and will be looking to qualify for the Championship for the first time since 2010; a historic achievement despite not making it past the Group Stage in Mexico.

We would also like to thank the respective national FA’s for allowing them to delay their departure so they could play in yesterday’s historic win over Bowers & Pitsea.
