Getting to the Ground
Stadium Address:
VBS Community Stadium
Gander Green Ln
Sutton
SM1 2EY
By Car
Travel along the M25, exiting at Junction 8. Then travel north on the A217 for about 15-20 minutes. Ignoring signs for Sutton itself, stay on the A217 to the traffic lights by the Gander Inn (on the left), turn right into Gander Green Lane. The Borough Sports Ground is about 200 yards up this road on the left hand side. If you reach West Sutton Station you have gone too far.
On matchdays, the club car park in Gander Green Lane is for parking permit holders only. Away fans should park in Gibson Road, the local municipal car-park. It takes no more than 15 minutes to walk from Gibson Road to the stadium. Click here for more information regarding parking, while a map of Gibson Road can be found here.
By Rail
Please note that few train services run on Boxing Day. As a result, Thameslink trains will not be in operation at all, but there is a reduced Southern service; two trains an hour from London Victoria to Sutton via West Croydon. In addition, for the attention of away fans, there are no South Western Railway trains running from Aldershot.
Sutton station, which is on the main lines out of Victoria and London Bridge is at the top end of Sutton High Street, about 20 minutes’ walk from the ground. Two buses between Morden and Sutton stations run conveniently close to our stadium: route 413 bus goes down Gander Green Lane, and number 80 runs along Collingwood Road. The ground can then be reached by taking the path through Collingwood Rec.
The London Underground will also continue to run. The easiest way to reach Sutton via the tube would be to get a Northern live service to Morden or a District line service to Wimbledon. From either, buses will be available to West Sutton railway station, which is adjacent to the ground.
Come out of West Sutton station and turn right into Gander Green Lane and the ground is about 100 yards further along. Away fans should walk past the main entrance and after about 70 yards turn right into Collingwood Recreation Ground, where the away turnstiles 5-8 are situated.
By Bus
The 413 service runs past the ground down Gander Green Lane. The bus leaves Sutton town centre from outside the main post office. The 80 route from Hackbridge to Belmont runs down Collingwood Road. The ground can be reached by taking the path through Collingwood Rec. Both routes also connect with the Northern Line at Morden.
London Buses are now cashless. Fares are a flat £1.75, and this includes multiple journeys within a one-hour period of the first “touch in” with a contactless payment card or Oyster card.

Accessibility
All accessible entrances will be open as detailed in the stadium map below:

We currently have spaces for ten wheelchair users (seven home, three away) and we would ask anyone who needs to use this facility to book in advance (contactus@suttonunited.net). If any wheelchair user needs to park at our stadium, please let us know in advance and we will make arrangements to welcome you. We have accessible toilets at both ends of the ground and in the main stand. Ambulant supporters will need to climb a handful of steps as there are currently no lifts.
For more information, supporters can access the club’s FAQs, which can be found here.
Full Fan Guides for both home and away fans can also be accessed here.
Footballing activities will be available in the fanzone, including table football, as well as the bar and club shop being open.

Last Time We Met
In a competitive affair at the EBB Stadium, strikes either side of the break from Lewis Simper and Josh Barrett meant it ended all square on Good Friday.
Sutton United drew first blood midway through the first half in style when they pounced on a loose pass from Aldershot, allowing Jack Wadham to combine nicely with Ashley Nadesan who teed up Lewis Simper. The U’s midfielder drove towards goal before unleashing a low, arrowed strike that nestled in the far corner, and gave Sutton a deserved lead.
Aldershot Town found an equaliser just 11 minutes after the break though, with a superb through ball from James Henry splitting the Sutton defence open to pick out Josh Barrett, who slid the ball past Jack Sims to level.
This meant that the U’s had to start again from square one as they looked to restore their advantage, and although they came close Will Davies and Simper, the Shots largely enjoyed the better of the second half, and meant it ended level.

Played for Both
Aaron Jones
Sutton skipper Aaron Jones joined the U’s in the summer from National League rivals Aldershot, fresh off captaining the club to the FA Trophy.
Born in Great Yarmouth, Jones began his career in the Ipswich Town academy and spent ten years at Portman Road, but opted to depart in 2012 in order to move across the ocean and play college soccer in the United States, joining Georgia State University. He made 36 appearances for the Panthers and notched three goals and seven assists, before making the switch to Clemson University. He continued his good form in South Carolina, making 39 appearances during his time with the Tigers and finished with four goals and seven assists.
Jones subsequently played in the Premier Development League for Carolina Dynamo before turning professional when he was drafted in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by Philadelphia Union. He signed a professional contract with the club a month later and made his professional debut with USL affiliate club Bethlehem Steel in a 3–2 defeat to Rochester Rhinos, going on to become an ever-present during his stint in Pennsylvania with 32 appearances.
However, he would depart Philly and return to the UK after the club opted against renewing his contract, with Jones making the move to local side King’s Lynn Town. He spent five years with the Linnets, making 167 appearances for the club and being a part of their rise from the Southern League to the National League in the span of just three seasons.
This preceded a move to Aldershot, reuniting with manager Tommy Widdrington where he quickly became a key part of the team. He has since gone on to appear 59 times in all competitions for the Shots, with the pinnacle of his two-year spell in Hampshire being when he got to lift the FA Trophy at Wembley Stadium, following a 3-0 win over Spennymoor Town in the final.
