By Car

Join the M25 around London, heading north before switching onto the A1(M) after junction 64 and the Washington services, which is the main northbound trunk road toward Yorkshire and the North East. You’ll continue on the A1(M) / A1 for most of the journey, passing Peterborough and Doncaster, then connect to local roads toward Newcastle/Gateshead as you approach the North East. Follow the A194 until the roundabout junction with the A184, turn left onto this road. The International Stadium is on the right after approximately three miles.

Once in Gateshead, the stadium is a short drive from the town centre, with parking available near the ground; it sits on the A184 Felling Bypass and is about five minutes by car from central Gateshead.

There are a limited number of parking spaces available at the Gateshead International Stadium (NE10 0EF), available directly at the ground on a first-come, first-served basis, often for free. Parking is also available in surrounding areas. Please be mindful of access to driveways and garages if doing so.

Accessibility

All accessible entrances will be open as detailed in the stadium map below:

Gateshead FC have played at the International Stadium since moving from Redheugh Park during the 1971/72 season. An all-seated venue, the International Stadium boasts a capacity of 11,800.

Home fans are housed in the most modern stand, the Tyne & Wear Main Stand, which holds 3,227 supporters. There is a large café/bar area on this side as well as corporate facilities.

The opposite side of the ground is where away supporters will be located, the 4,044-capacity East Stand.

There is one long curving stand behind one of the goals, and two separate ones behind the other, but none of these are in use for football matches.

To access the East Stand, fans will enter through Gate 21 on Neilson Road, cross the all-weather pitches, then climb a stone staircase to the side of the East Stand. Any fans with accessibility issues will be directed to an alternative route.

Supporters will have access to food inside the ground but will not have access to alcohol inside the ground as the servery is in view of the pitch.

Flags are allowed but must be hung as directed by stewards. Drums and other musical instruments will not be allowed.

Doors open from 1:30pm.

Wheelchair & Ambulant Disabled

Gateshead FC is proud to welcome supporters from all backgrounds to Gateshead International Stadium, and pride ourselves on providing a match day experience that is accessible and enjoyable to all.

Supporters with disabilities and accessibility issues are able to use the dedicated balcony overlooking the pitch at Gateshead International Stadium on match day.

The balcony is accessed by entering through the main reception and using the lift located opposite the main desk, before heading through the doors to the left and entering the corridor adjacent to room nine to reach the balcony. Stewards will be on hand throughout the concourse should assistance be required.

Tickets can either be purchased on the gate or via our online ticketing platform, though we recommend purchasing online for ease of entry on match day.

Supporters should purchase tickets under the relevant age bracket, and there is also a carer option which permits entry free of charge. Carers will be required to bring identification with them, such as a Blue Badge or a letter proving their carer status.

Tickets purchased online are not posted to supporters and must be either printed at home or shown on a smartphone upon entry.

Carer tickets can be added after checking out with the initial ticket.

Last Time We Met

The entertainment continued at the VBS as Sutton scored four for the second time in a week, and three at home for the fifth time since Chris Agutter took charge at the start of October, shrugging off an early Gateshead goal to move further away from the bottom four and consign the Tynesiders to a fifth consecutive Enterprise National League defeat. In a hugely enjoyable game to watch, in which Gateshead played a full part, Sutton seemed to have grabbed the initiative with two goals in the first five minutes of the second half, but Dom Telford’s immediate reply ensured that the result would be in doubt until Jack Taylor stormed forward in the eighth minute of stoppage time to give the afternoon a memorable finish.

Played for Both

Callum Tripp

Callum Tripp joined Sutton on loan from MK Dons in January 2026, making the switch until the end of the 2025/26 season, having spent a period in 2024/25 on loan at Gateshead.

Hailing from Milton Keynes, the 19-year old joined the youth setup at Stadium MK at a young age and progressed through various academy groups, before rising into the first team by the age of just 15.

After starting a two-year scholarship ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, he made his first team debut as a half substitute in a 2-1 defeat to Cheltenham Town in the EFL Trophy, and has since gone on to feature a handful of times for the club.

He signed professional terms in September 2023 at the age of 17 and was followed by his professional debut the following month, making an 11-minute camo in a 2-2 draw with Barrow, before signing an improved contract in October 2024, fresh off a loan spell at St. Albans City.

This was followed by loan spells at Gateshead and Bedford Town, scoring his first professional goal for the former in a National League Cup win over Newcastle United, before spending the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign in the North-East until being recalled, and he later made the switch to Bedfordshire on a one-month loan deal back in October.

This was followed by a spell at Sutton, with the young defender playing twice under Chris Agutter in a draw with Forest Green Rovers and a win over Tamworth, before returning to Stadium MK a month after joining the U’s.
