Getting to the Ground
Stadium Address:
VBS Community Stadium
Gander Green Ln
Sutton
SM1 2EY
By Car
Travel along the M25, exiting at Junction 8. Then travel north on the A217 for about 15-20 minutes. Ignoring signs for Sutton itself, stay on the A217 to the traffic lights by the Gander Inn (on the left), turn right into Gander Green Lane. The Borough Sports Ground is about 200 yards up this road on the left hand side. If you reach West Sutton Station you have gone too far.
On matchdays, the club car park in Gander Green Lane is for parking permit holders only. Away fans should park in Gibson Road, the local municipal car-park. It takes no more than 15 minutes to walk from Gibson Road to the stadium. Click here for more information regarding parking, while a map of Gibson Road can be found here.
By Rail
It is recommended that visiting supporters use Sutton station, which is on the main lines out of Victoria and London Bridge and is at the top end of Sutton High Street, about 20 minutes’ walk from the ground. Two buses between Morden and Sutton stations run conveniently close to our stadium: route 413 bus goes down Gander Green Lane, and number 80 runs along Collingwood Road. The ground can then be reached by taking the path through Collingwood Rec.
West Sutton railway station is adjacent to the ground. It is served by Thameslink trains via Wimbledon or Sutton. Come out of West Sutton station and turn right into Gander Green Lane and the ground is about 100 yards further along. Away fans should walk past the main entrance and after about 70 yards turn right into Collingwood Recreation Ground, where the away turnstiles 5-8 are situated.
By Bus
The 413 service runs past the ground down Gander Green Lane. The bus leaves Sutton town centre from outside the main post office. The 80 route from Hackbridge to Belmont runs down Collingwood Road. The ground can be reached by taking the path through Collingwood Rec. Both routes also connect with the Northern Line at Morden.
London Buses are now cashless. Fares are a flat £1.75, and this includes multiple journeys within a one-hour period of the first “touch in” with a contactless payment card or Oyster card.
Accessibility
All accessible entrances will be open as detailed in the stadium map below:
We currently have spaces for ten wheelchair users (seven home, three away) and we would ask anyone who needs to use this facility to book in advance (contactus@suttonunited.net). If any wheelchair user needs to park at our stadium, please let us know in advance and we will make arrangements to welcome you. We have accessible toilets at both ends of the ground and in the main stand. Ambulant supporters will need to climb a handful of steps as there are currently no lifts.
For more information, supporters can access the club’s FAQs, which can be found here.
Full Fan Guides for both home and away fans can also be accessed here.
Footballing activities will be available in the fanzone, including table football, as well as the bar and club shop being open.
Please note that season tickets are once again available to collect prior to kick-off, with turnstiles opening from 12:30pm.
Supporters should enter through Gate A, where tickets collection will be located, and are encouraged to arrive early to avoid queues. Please bring valid ID or confirmation of your season ticket purchase when collecting.
Stat Attack
3 – Sutton could stretch their unbeaten record against Scunthorpe United to three games, having never lost to the Iron. The two sides have previously met just twice – in the U’s maiden campaign in League Two – a season which saw Scunthorpe relegated to the National League.
4 – Scunthorpe’s only previous visit to Gander Green Lane was in Sutton’s first season in the EFL, with a Will Randall brace helping to secure a 4-1 win for the U’s in February 2022.
19 – Saturday’s match is the U’s 19th match on this day, all since WWII, the first being at Enfield in the Athenian League in 1947. U’s lost by 3-2 with Pat Edleston scoring both the goals.

Last Time We Met
Sutton reignited their League Two promotion push by thrashing struggling Scunthorpe United, ending the day just two points off the automatic promotion places.
An untidy opening to the game received the spark it needed to come to life just before the half-hour mark when Omar Bugiel collected a ball down the left from Rob Milsom and turned in to the penalty area past Manny Onoriase, whose attempt to recover the situation only resulted in him bundling Bugiel over. It was an easy decision for the referee, and Milsom netted from the spot although Rory Watson managed to get a hand to the shot.
Little more than a minute later, the U’s had a second as Donovan Wilson shook off a challenge in midfield and played the ball wide to Will Randall, who cut in past Ross Millen and curled a low shot in to the far corner of the net from just outside the penalty area.
Now in control, Sutton added a superb third goal nine minutes later, as David Ajiboye began a move that involved Milsom, Randall and Bugiel, whose pass to the overlapping Joe Kizzi allowed the defender to hammer a shot past Watson and score for the second Saturday in a row, the only time in the move that the ball left the ground.
Heading into the break comfortably ahead, it got even better for the U’s in the second half as just after the hour-mark, they secured a fourth goal when Bugiel cut in from the right and played a pass to Wilson just before being fouled, and with the referee playing a good advantage, Wilson opted against going for goal himself and instead set up Randall, whose shot slithered under Watson to notch two goals in a game for the first time.
While the win was all but secured, Sutton were unable to keep a clean sheet when a Scunthorpe counter attack led to Rekeil Pyke crossing low, with Harry Beautyman sliding in to clear and was only to turn the ball in to his own net, although Liam Feeney would almost certainly have scored but for Beautyman’s intervention, but nonetheless, brought a close to a superb outing at Gander Green Lane.

Aaron Jarvis
Former Sutton striker Aaron Jarvis was sold to Scunthorpe after a season with the U’s, with the forward going on to appear 32 times for the Iron.
A product of the Basingstoke Town academy, Jarvis was spotted by Luton Town and made the jump up to League Two in 2017, appearing a handful of times for the Hatters whilst gaining experience out on loan, with stints at Boreham Wood and Falkirk in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
Jarvis’ two years at Kenilworth Road came to an end at the expiry of his loan spell with the latter, and led to a permanent switch to Sutton ahead of the 2019/20 season. He became a fairly regular figure during his brief time at Gander Green Lane, but was loaned to Hemel Hempstead Town midway through the campaign, before joining Scunthorpe the following summer.
His time at the Attis Arena proved to be overshadowed by struggles off the pitch for the Iron, with the club dropping from League Two to the National League North, and saw Jarvis depart following their demotion to the fifth tier.
Nonetheless, the striker rediscovered his goalscoring form at Torquay United, with a successful stint in Devon leading to a return to the National League for the 27-year old, joining Yeovil Town in the summer of 2024 where he remains.
