Getting to the Ground
Stadium Address:
Kathryn Avenue
Huntington
York
YO32 9AF
By Car
Take the M1 and A1 and then leave to join the A64 towards York. Continue on the A64 to by-pass the city to the south and east, then on reaching the A1237 ring road northeast of the city take the first exit at the roundabout to follow the ring road, then the first exit at the next roundabout in to Malton Road, the A1036.
Continue until the next roundabout by the Monks Cross and Vangarde shopping centres, and take the second exit to enter the shopping centre and stadium complex.
Parking at the ground is very scarce with only 400 spaces available, tickets can be purchased online in advance here, and by selecting the fixture. Parking at the Park & Ride next to the ground costs £5 per car at the same time as buying a match ticket. A steward then scans your ticket in the car park. Parking is not permitted in any other local car parks, so we highly recommend pre-booking an official parking space. Stewards will be present in the area on matchdays to advise.
The Vangarde Shopping Park offers parking for up to six hours with a minimum spend of £5 in one of their stores or restaurants. Proof of purchase is required, and you will need to give your car registration to one of their stewards. Click here for Vangarde rules.
Please note that parking is limited to two hours on matchdays in the shopping car parks around the stadium. However, recent changes now permits parking for up six hours for minimal spend – only by purchasing goods from one of the shops is it possible to see a parking attendant and get your parking upgraded on production of a receipt.
In addition:
- The North car park (from Jockey Lane entrance) is for general users of the leisure centre, Explore Library, NHS and York Against Cancer and will be managed by stewards on match days.
- The East car park (next to the 3G pitches) is closed to the public on matchdays for match day staff and clubs. Blue badge holders can also gain access by booking directly with the clubs.
- The cinema is serviced by South car park. Owned by a private company, no match day parking is permitted. Stewards will be present in the area on match days.
- There is a maximum four-hour parking restriction across the entire site (two hours on matchdays), including Vangarde Shopping Park, controlled through ANPR cameras.

The main station is York Station, which is situated in the centre of York, around three miles from the LNER Community Stadium. Bus services are available directly from outside the station.

The stadium offers designated wheelchair-accessible seating with lift access and adjacent carer seats, which are free when booked in advance through the Ticket Office.
Accessible toilets, low-height catering counters, and trained volunteers are available throughout the venue to assist. For neurodiverse fans or those with sensory sensitivities, the club provides a Quiet Zone, sensory packs, and complimentary ear defenders.
Visually impaired supporters can also borrow audio commentary devices that connect to BBC Radio York (with their own headphones).
Stat Attack
1 – Will Davies’ match-winning brace against his former side in January made him the first player to score in both meetings with the Minstermen in a single season. He had previously notched in the return fixture at the start of the season.
2 – Sutton have lost just two of their last seven visits to Yorkshire, which includes trips to York, Bradford City, FC Halifax Town and Harrogate Town. Both defeats were at the hands of Bradford, who beat Sutton in 2022/23 (3-1) and 2023/24 (1-0).
5 – Sutton are looking to win successive games against York for the first time. The U’s win at the LNER Community Stadium in January in just their fourth ever meeting ended a run of three consecutive 2-2 draws with the Minstermen.
9 – Sutton are looking to extend their run of being unbeaten on the first day of the season to nine games. Their last defeat on the first day of the season was against Solihull Moors in 2016, which itself was the sixth time in a row the U’s had lost their opening game.

Last Time We Met
Will Davies’ first half brace at his old stomping ground secured a first National League win of 2025 for Sutton United.
The former York City man opened the scoring after the last of a handful of Josh Coley chances led to an inch-perfect corner from Lewis Simper, whose delivery flew onto the head of Davies to give Sutton the lead after 16 minutes, before a mistake from Malachi Fagan-Walcott allowed him to add a second against his former club nine minutes later with a powerful, thumping effort into the top corner that flew past York goalkeeper Harrision Male.
The hosts huffed and puffed throughout the second half in their search for a goal back, but struggled to break down a stubborn U’s defence. Josh Stones went closest with a glorious chance just before the hour-mark when an outstanding last-ditch challenge from Besart Topallaj diverted his effort onto the woodwork with an open goal to aim at, but the Minstermen continued to put pressure on and finally found a way through when Dipo Akinyemi turned home Ollie Pearce’s low ball with a few minutes to go.
In the end it would be too little, too late for Adam Hinshelwood’s side though, who’s title challenge took a wobble with defeat against the U’s seeing them unable to close the gap on leaders Forest Green Rovers.
Relive the victory here.
