Sutton make the short trip across South London tomorrow to face a Bromley side who earlier this season looked set to mount a real challenge at the top of the Vanarama National League table, as they went unbeaten in their first thirteen league games until losing at Yeovil at the end of September. They were still challenging at the top when they won 2-0 at Sutton three months ago, but since beating Dover at Hayes Lane on New Year’s Day they have taken just one point from seven games, and have now dropped to 9th place, although still only outside the play-off zone on goal difference.
Since that game at Gander Green Lane in November (action above) Sutton have lost just once in the subsequent thirteen league games, the single goal reverse at Chesterfield in early January, and while U’s are unbeaten in four but without a win in five, the second half performance against leaders Barrow in front of the BT cameras last week put everyone in optimistic mood going in to the last two months of the season, even if the league table shows U’s just three points outside the relegation zone, although only eight points out of the play-offs.
Craig Eastmond has finally served his four match ban following his sending off at Chesterfield and is eligible to play at Hayes Lane tomorrow.
Tickets can be bought at a discount in advance of the game, up to 1pm on Saturday, and full details, together with travel information, is here.
