It’s the first set of fixtures tonight that reverse meetings earlier in the season, with Sutton heading to East London to take on a Dagenham & Redbridge side who recorded their first win at Sutton in September, goals late in the first half from Reece Grant and former U James Dobson giving them a 2-0 half time lead that Sutton were unable to retrieve. The clubd will know each other well by Christmas, having also been drawn to meet at Gander Green Lane in the first round of the FA Trophy on Saturday December 14.

Both sides suffered defeats on Saturday, U’s going down 2-0 at home to Bromley and Daggers beaten by three first half goals at Fylde, and both have been struggling for form in recent weeks, Sutton’s success at Torquay U’s first in the league since September and Dagenham having lost four of their last five. The exception was a 6-1 crushing of Aldershot on the same day as U’s were winning in Devon. Three of those four defeats came away from home, however, with their form at Victoria Road impressively showing one defeat in their last nine games there. Barrow, Woking and Boreham Wood are the visiting teams to have picked up maximum points at the ground this season.

U’s will hope that Ben Goodliffe is fit to return against the club with which he spent last season on loan – his absence on Saturday means that David Ajiboye is now the only player to have featured in all 21 of U’s National League games so far this season.

We will have commentary on our Mixlr channel from Victoria Road, where the kick off is at 7.45pm
