Dartford will begin the 2024-25 season in the Isthmian League following their surprise relegation from National League South, just a year after reaching the play-offs but losing on penalties to St Albans. It will be their first season in the Isthmian League since the 2009-10 season when they finished as champions with Sutton eighteen points behind in second place – U’s would lose in the play-off semi finals to Kingstonian.
The game will be three years to the day since the sides last met in a pre-season game, Kylian Kouassi the Sutton scorer in a 3-1 defeat, while the last competitive meeting was the memorable FA Cup 1st round tie in November 2016 when Roarie Deacon, Maxime Biamou and Ross Stearn all scored twice as U’s won 6-3 en route to a fifth round meeting with Arsenal.
