Sutton visit Oxford City in the latest pre-season friendly on Tuesday after winning three of the four warm-up games so far. Oxford played at the highest level in their history last season after promotion through the National League South play-offs earned them a place in the National League, but the step up proved too much and they finished bottom of the table at the end of their first season, twelve points adrift of 23rd placed Dorking Wanderers. Despite being promoted from National League South, they have been relegated in to the northern section and will begin their season on Merseyside against Marine.
It is Sutton’s first visit to Court Place Farm since April 2016, when, with the National League South title wrapped up, Sutton won 1-0 on the last day of the season thanks to a Tom Bolarinwa goal.
