Last week Sutton travelled to Boreham Wood with the sides next to each other in the National League table, and this weekend the same applies to the visit of Dover, who come to the Knights Community Stadium in seventh place, one place behind U’s with the same number of points. How the two teams have arrived at nine points is slightly different, with U’s having won two and drawn three, while Dover have won three, including both their away games so far at Barnet and Chesterfield, but lost two, most recently last Saturday at home to Torquay.
Both Sutton’s home games have been drawn so far so U’s will be keen to register a first win of the season at the KCS, but they will have to overturn recent form in the fixture, with Dover unbeaten in the three meetings in the league since U’s were promoted in 2016 having scored late equalisers in each of the past two games to force 2-2 draws (above – Craig Eastmond puts U’s ahead last season).
U’s will have to watch out for Alfie Pavey, who like Harry Beautyman has three goals to his credit so far this season, while manager Matt Gray will wait to see how the players who missed last week’s game at Boreham Wood through injury have responded before naming his side.
Tickets are on sale online here, with a discount if bought before midnight tonight (Friday). Segregation will not be in force for the game.
