The game matches two sides who have enjoyed similar starts to the season, both having seven points from the three games so far. York, who finished one point outside the relegation zone last season, opened with an away draw at Southend before home wins against Tamworth and Rochdale, while U’s drew at Tamworth before beating Altrincham at the VBS last Saturday and scoring the only goal of the game at Wealdstone on Tuesday, and it’s Sutton who hold the higher league position of third due to superior goal difference, with York two places behind.

Manager Adam Hinshelwood, a former Brighton, Aldershot and Wycombe defender who took over in February after seven successful years in charge of Worthing, went back to Woodside Road in the summer to sign prolific striker Ollie Pearce, who scored 46 goals in all competitions for Worthing last season, while defender Callum Howe will be a familiar name to Sutton supporters after playing against U’s on a number of occasions for Solihull Moors.

Sutton have no new injury concerns after Tuesday’s win at Wealdstone, with Will Davies likely to be in the squad to face a side for whom he made twenty National League appearances last season. Steve Morison previews the game here.

Saturday’s referee is Elliot Bell, who is taking charge of a Sutton game for the first time. He has been a National League referee since the start of last season, and refereed the National League South play-off eliminator between Maidstone and Aveley.
