For the second time in ten days Sutton take part in a game that pitches third in the Vanarama National League against second tonight. When U’s travelled to Wealdstone last Saturday in front of the BT cameras in second place it was Wealdstone who were in third place, tonight it’s Woking, who would go above U’s with a victory.
Sutton could actually end the evening top of the table if a win at Kingfield is coupled with a defeat for leaders Torquay at Wealdstone, but it will be a tough test with Woking unbeaten in their five home league games so far this season. The last saw a 4-1 win over Barnet, despite the dismissal of Charlie Cooper, who will be suspended tonight, and this came on the back of a 5-1 win at Dover, those two victories ending a run of four games without a win.
After returning to winning form with a battling defeat of Halifax on Saturday, U’s will be without winger Will Randall after he suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury, but Jordan Adebayo-Smith, who signed yesterday, will go straight in to the squad as U’s look to repeat last season’s victory at Kingfield, a solid 2-0 victory sparked by Omar Bugiel’s spectacular first minute volley that was later voted National League Goal of the Season, and with U’s then putting six past the Cards in the return game on New Year’s Day Woking will be keen to atone for those results.
Passes for tonight’s live stream from CardsLive, price £12, can be obtained here, while we will have a live Mixlr commentary from Kingfield on the game, which kicks off at 7.45pm.
