The National League have confirmed that following a meeting of their Club Compliance and Licensing committee, the takeover of Morecambe Football Club by the consortium known as Panjab Warriors Ltd has been approved.

The suspension of Morecambe will therefore be immediately lifted on receipt of the signed Sale and Purchase agreement, and it is the intention for Morecambe’s first National League game to be on Saturday, 23 August at home against Altrincham.

As a result, Morecambe have since confirmed that the acquisition of the club by Panjab Warriors has been officially completed, and marks the end of Jason Whittingham’s tenure as owner, who took control of the club through Bond Group Investments in May 2018.

The sports investment firm have already sparked into action, replacing outgoing manager Derek Adams with former Wigan Athletic and Como 1907 Coach, Ashvir Singh Johal, who has previously worked alongside Kolo Touré and Cesc Fàbregas.

We are delighted to have learnt that the future of Morecambe Football Club has been protected, and thus ensures our fixtures against the Shrimps on Saturday, 8th November 2025 and Saturday, 7th March 2026 will take place.Photo Credit: Morecambe Football Club
