Sutton United Football Club can confirm that Mo Dabre has joined Salisbury on a month-long loan deal.

The Italian midfielder joins up with a Whites side who currently sit 17th in the National League South, and bolsters their ranks as they look to move further away from the relegation places, with their recent run of just two defeats in their last seven games seeing them rise to five points above the drop zone.

Dabre originally joined Sutton last summer from Tonbridge Angels, but has struggled for consistent minutes due to a reoccurring knee injury sustained in a Behind Closed Doors’ pre-season friendly against Cambridge United.

As a result, he was unable to feature in the remainder of the U’s pre-season schedule and had to wait until the visit to Rochdale towards the end of August to make his debut, but nonetheless responded with an impressive performance in the centre of the park.

The 22-year old continued this into his first start against Carlisle United, where he received many plaudits for his work rate, energy and tenacity in midfield, playing a crucial role in Sutton picking up their first win of the campaign, and has since found himself in and out of the side despite showing much promise whenever he has stepped onto the pitch. He scored his first goal with the fourth and final strike in the 4-1 win over Southampton in the National League Cup, and in total has appeared 12 times for the club in all competitions.

Prior to making the move to South London, he had come through the ranks in his native Italy at Calcio Lecce 1912, before making the move to England where he joined the Volenti Academy in 2018. This was followed by a move to League One side Swindon Town in 2021 before subsequent loan spells at Chippenham Town, Banbury United and Worthing preceded a permanent switch to Chelmsford City, with Dabre spending five months in Essex before making the move to Tonbridge.

He went on to spend two years at the Longmead Stadium appearing more than 50 times for the club, earning a move to the National League as a result of some superb performances in midfield for the Angels, and after half-a-season as a Sutton player, becomes the second U to make the temporary switch to Salisbury after Hayden Muller earlier on in the campaign.

Good luck, Mo!
