Sutton United Football Club can confirm the departure of Mo Dabre, who joins Salisbury on a permanent deal.

The Italian has spent the last two months in Wiltshire on a temporary basis having originally left the U’s at the start of December, before extending his loan until the end of the season the following month.

He has appeared eight times for the Whites during an impressive spell so far, receiving plaudits for his work rate and tenacity in the centre of the park.

After debuting in their 1-0 defeat to Farnborough, having signed on the eve of that clash, and played 77 minutes on his maiden appearance for the club, before following it up with a 12-minute cameo in their 2-0 defeat to Bath City the following week. He then added a second start to his Salisbury tally as he played a crucial role in the Whites’ 3-1 win over AFC Totton, notably notching an assist for the opener. After Josh Sommerton was able to drive with the ball into the middle of the field, he chipped a pass over the top of the Totton defence and into the path of Dabre who kept the ball under his spell excellently, squaring the ball to Josh Hedges who tapped the ball home to draw first blood in the local derby. This proved to be the cherry on top of a Man of the Match-worthy display from the midfielder, winning plaudits from manager Brian Dutton who described him as the epitome of what they were looking for – hard work, effort and quality.

He then closed out the year with another start, playing 86 minutes as the Whites lost 1-0 to Weston-super-Mare, and has added to his tremendous streak of performances with a crucial contribution against highflying Worthing, as well as further appearances against Dagenham & Redbridge, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Dorking Wanderers.

The midfielder, who originally joined Sutton from Tonbridge Angels in the summer, now embarks on a permanent switch to the South-West.

We would like to thank Mo for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future.
