Sutton United Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Italian midfielder Mo Dabre.

The 22-year old, who is of Burkinabè descent, is the second player to sign from Tonbridge Angels this summer following last week’s confirmation of Liam Vincent’s arrival at Gander Green Lane, and will add some much-needed quality in the centre of the park heading into the new season.

Dabre began his career in his native Italy and shone in the youth ranks at Calcio Lecco 1912, before making the move to England where he joined the Volenti Academy in 2018. This was followed by a move to League One side Swindon Town in 2021, making his senior debut the following month in an EFL Trophy match against Arsenal in which he scored the opening goal.

Loan spells to Chippenham Town, Banbury United and Worthing followed for the midfielder in 2022, returning the latter the following year until the end of the season, and saw him rack up experience in the National League South. A two-year stint in Wiltshire soon came to an end though with the Italian looking to secure regular football, and saw him drop into non-league permanently with a move to Chelmsford City.

He spent a little over a year in Essex before signing for Tonbridge in November 2023, and has become an ever-present across his two seasons at the Longmead Stadium with more than 50 appearances to his name.

Upon his arrival in South London, Dabre said:

“It feels great to be at Sutton. It’s a historic club with great ambition and I’m really happy and excited to be here”.

Welcome to Sutton United, Mo!
