Sutton United Football Club can confirm the departure of Dillon De Silva, who joins Maidenhead United on loan until the end of the season.

The Sri Lanka international makes his third exit of the campaign this season, having previously turned out for Tamworth and Dagenham & Redbridge, joining a Magpies side who currently sit eighth in the National League South, four points off the play-off spots in the their search for an immediate return to the National League after suffering relegation last season.

De Silva originally completed a move to South London when he became the first recruit of the 2024/25 campaign, and went on to appear 28 times in all competitions after an injury sustained on the opening day of the season delayed his start to life at Sutton.

He has since gone on to feature 41 times in total for the club, scoring his only goals against Nottingham Forest in the National League Cup and against Maidenhead United in the league, before struggling for as many opportunities this term.

After playing nine times for Sutton during the opening couple of months of the season, starting twice in defeats to Fulham and Brackley Town, he spent a month on loan at Tamworth, appearing twice, before joining Dagenham & Redbridge on loan until January, where he played eight games for a Daggers side who have struggled in their own search for an instant promotion, currently sitting 11th in the division.

He has already made his first appearance for the Magpies, making his debut off the bench with 17 minutes remaining as Maidenhead sealed a 1-0 win over Tonbridge Angels last night, courtesy of a late Matt Robinson strike.

Good luck, Dillon!
