Sutton United Football Club is delighted to confirm the appointment of Frankie Deegan to the position of Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Deegan becomes the third member of staff to follow Chris Agutter from Worthing after the appointments of Ben Cornelius and Dean Hammond, having first linked up with Agutter at Hastings United.

A graduate of the University of Brighton, Deegan spent three months at the Pilot Field as an intern where he gained crucial experience within semi-professional football, with the U’s ending the campaign with a seventh place finish in the Isthmian Premier Division and a first appearance in the Sussex Senior Cup Final in 24 years.

He then reunited with Agutter after the Head Coach’s move to Worthing and played a role in the Rebels’ charge towards promotion, which ultimately came to an end on the final day of the season despite a 5-1 win over Enfield Town to secure a record-breaking points tally, with Truro City ultimately coming out on top.

The 22-year old now takes on his first full-time role with a move to Sutton after departing Worthing in the summer, replacing Sean Miles in the dugout ahead of the U’s FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round replay against Farnham Town tomorrow.
