Sutton United Football Club is delighted to confirm that Kai Jennings has extended his loan deal from AFC Wimbledon until the end of the season.

The midfielder initially joined the club on a temporary deal until Sunday 4th January, and has become a firm fans’ favourite during his brief stint at the VBS Community Stadium so far.

An impressive first half of the season has seen him rack up 14 appearances, from which he contributed to Sutton’s superb rise in form under Chris Agutter during November.

After scoring on his debut with an outstanding turn and shot to double Sutton’s lead against Wealdstone, he fired home a rocket into the top corner and a first-time volley to secure three points away at Truro City, before notching the second of four in the National League Cup against Southampton to make it four goals for the club.

Jennings then bagged what is perhaps his finest moment in amber so far in front of the television cameras, scoring directly from a corner against Shrewsbury Town in the Emirates FA Cup.

He has also impressed with his tenacity and energy in the centre of the park, as well as his wonderful eye for a pass. His assist for Brandon Njoku’s goal against FC Halifax Town epitomised what he is about, racing forward before seeming to miss a chance to get a shot away, but instead creating space on the right of the penalty area to chip in a cross that Njoku brought down before sweeping past the helpless Sam Johnston.

Jennings is now set to be a key part of Agutter’s side for the remainder of the campaign, having successfully made the jump into the fifth tier after previous loan spells at Walton & Hersham and Farnborough.

Furthermore, his form for the U’s has seen him called up to Wimbledon’s first team on two occasions this term, appearing in the Vertu Trophy with his first senior start for the Wombles in a 5-1 win over Cardiff City, having previously been an unused substitute against Bromley the month before.

Glad to have you on board, Kai!
