Sutton United Football Club can confirm the signing of Omari Mrisho on loan from Huddersfield Town.

The Gambian right back arrives on a temporary deal from the League One side to reunite with Head Coach Chris Agutter, having worked together during their time at Brighton & Hove Albion, and will offer athleticism, pace and power on the flank during his time at the VBS Community Stadium.

After spending time as a schoolboy with the Seagulls, Mrisho moved to West Yorkshire on a scholarship in July 2022 and progressed through the Under-19s to feature regularly for the Club’s B Team, making the rise through the ranks at just 18 years old.

He was rewarded for his development by signing his first professional contract in May 2024, a two-year deal which would keep him with the Terriers until 2026, before replacing Lyndon Gooch earlier this season in a Vertu Trophy defeat to Harrogate Town to make his senior professional and Club debut.

The defender has otherwise impressed within the youth setup at the John Smith’s Stadium, and now embarks on his first professional loan with a switch to the National League.

Speaking on his arrival at Sutton, Mrisho said:

“It feels very good.”

“I’m looking forward to getting going, it’s exciting, Agi has come in and taken over and the club is in a good place right now so I’m hoping to build on that.”

He will wear the number 44 during his stint at Gander Green Lane.

Welcome to Sutton, Omari!
