Sutton United Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Sarah Chapman, who re-joins the U’s for her second spell.

The experienced forward will add a host of know-how and expertise to Lucy Clark’s side, having turned out for a variety of clubs during a long-term playing career, including Sutton.

After starting her career at Wimbledon, Chapman was picked up by Chelsea where she made her debut at the age of 16, all the way back in 1997 in a 6-4 defeat to Hampton & Richmond Borough, and went on to appear 76 times for the Blues, scoring 31 goals.

She departed Stamford Bridge in 2003 after a successful six years, and continued to carve out a career at a high level, turning out for Crystal Palace and Fulham, before joining Mole Valley. Stints at Sutton, Woking, Dorking Wanderers and Crawley AFC followed, before spending last season at Carshalton Athletic.

Chapman now returns to Gander Green Lane in a leadership role, contributing to both the First Team and Development Team as a qualified coach.

Welcome back to Sutton, Sarah!
