Sutton United Football Club is delighted to confirm the signings of Gabrielle Williams and Emily Skazlic, who will bolster the ranks of the Women’s team heading into the 2025/26 season.
Two internationals, USA-born Williams will add plenty of talent to the U’s frontline after signing from American international College in her native USA, while Australia-born Skazlic is an experienced head who will offer her wisdom to the backline, making the move to England at the age of 32.
Hailing from Wilbraham, Massachusetts, 23-year old Williams has spent her entire career so far overseas, originally turning out for Western United Pioneers, a youth club based in her home state, until the age of 15 before making the move to Connecticut to join Oakwood Soccer Club two years later, prior to a return Massachusetts to join New England Football Club, where she spent a year. This preceded a switch to American international College where she enjoyed a positive start to life at the Yellow Jackets, scoring three goals in two games, notching the winner against Daemen University before scoring a brace against Maine–Fort Kent three days later.
Skazlic rose through the ranks at Keilor Park Soccer Club, having joined the Melbourne-based club at the age of 12, and went on to spend ten years with the Eagles’ first team.
Despite a long-term spell at Keilor Park Reserve, she ended a decade-long association with the first team by making the switch to Maribyrnong Swifts, before moving to England for the first time when she joined Clapham United.
The defender endured a difficult time with Bees, however, suffering relegation at the end of the 2024/25 season which saw them drop to the Division 2 Central & South, marking their second relegation in three seasons. Nonetheless, Skazlic impressed amongst an otherwise dismal campaign in Clapham Common, and makes the jump up to the London & South East Regional Women’s League Premier Division with a move across South London, joining Lucy Clark’s ranks ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The Women’s side are set to begin their fourth season in the fifth tier, hosting Sport London e Benfica at Reg Madgwick Stadium, Cobham this Sunday (17th August; 2pm KO).
