Sutton United Football Club is delighted to confirm the signings of Ruby Murdock, Emily Oliver and Megan Taylor for the U’s Women’s Team.
Lucy Clark has been hard at work at bolstering her ranks ahead of the 2025/26 season, with Amy Warren, Louise Dunne, Ellie Moon and Phoebe Langley already making the switch to Gander Green Lane this summer, and the quartet have now been followed by a further three new recruits.
Ruby Murdock joins the club from Haywards Heath, having previously spent a season across the ocean with a stint at Jefferson University in Philadelphia, and is also a product of the Sutton academy. Having worked her way up to the U’s Under-21 level, Murdock went on to turn out for Crystal Palace and Millwall, prior to moving to the United States in 2023.
She subsequently spent the 2023/24 season in Pennsylvania, before returning to the UK with a move to Haywards Heath, and now returns to Sutton ahead of the new campaign after spending 2024/25 in West Sussex.
Murdock isn’t the only player with experience in the States though, with fellow signing Emily Oliver also spending time away from the UK.
A former Sutton loanee, Oliver rose through the ranks at Chelsea Ladies’ Centre of Excellence before joining AFC Wimbledon, where she score her first senior goal against London Seaward and later won Player of the Match for a mature midfield display against Oxford United.
Having established herself as a promising defensive midfielder, Oliver gained further experience with a brief period on loan at Gander Green Lane in 2023, scoring once in a 5–0 victory, before departing South London on a permanent basis after a successful two years.
This preceded a move to Monroe University in New York, where she spent time as a Freshman and Sophomore and went on to enjoy a successful year, scoring once in ten games from midfield and graduating as part of the Class of 24′, having gained crucial experience as a regular part of the squad.
Furthermore, Megan Taylor becomes the fifth player to make the move back to the U’s this summer, joining forces with fellow Sutton Juniors Dunne, Moon and Murdock, along with ex-loanee Oliver.
Hailing from West Sussex, the 18-year old goalkeeper followed up her time at Gander Green Lane with stints at Crystal Palace, Bromley, Crawley Wasps and Haywards Heath, where she played alongside Murdock, and notably impressed in the Girls’ Team at Hanbury Park. She was the starting goalkeeper for the Under‑18’s in the inaugural Sussex Girls Challenge Cup Final, where she made several excellent saves, including twice denying Olivia Waller at close range early on.
