Sutton United Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Callum Tripp on loan from MK Dons until the end of the season.
The defender, who can also play in midfield, joins the U’s until the end of the season, and will offer increased depth as well as quality to Chris Agutter’s side.
Hailing from Milton Keynes, the 19-year old joined the youth setup at Stadium MK at a young age and progressed through various academy groups, before rising into the first team by the age of just 15.
After starting a two-year scholarship ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, he made his first team debut as a half substitute in a 2-1 defeat to Cheltenham Town in the EFL Trophy, and has since gone on to feature a handful of times for the club.
He signed professional terms in September 2023 at the age of 17 and was followed by his professional debut the following month, making an 11-minute camo in a 2-2 draw with Barrow, before signing an improved contract in October 2024, fresh off a loan spell at St. Albans City.
This was followed by loan spells at Gateshead and Bedford Town, scoring his first professional goal for the former in a National League Cup win over Newcastle United, before spending the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign in the North-East until being recalled, and he later made the switch to Bedfordshire on a one-month loan deal back in October.
Internationally, Tripp has also represented Wales at Under-21 level, first being called up ahead of friendlies against Andorra and Sweden, making his debut in a 1-0 win against the former.
After agreeing on his loan deal, Tripp said:
“I’m buzzing to be honest. Finally got it done, I had interest about a month ago and since then my focus has just been trying to get it sorted.
I’ve met the boys, met the Gaffer and all the staff today, and I’m really excited to get going.”
He will wear the number 2 during his stint at Gander Green Lane.
Welcome to Sutton, Callum!
