Sutton United Football Club can confirm the departure of Liam Vincent, who joins Dorking Wanderers on a one-month loan deal.
The Surrey-based side are currently flying high in the National League South, leading the way at the top of the division with a six-point gap to second place Torquay United, and are currently enjoying a string of eight games unbeaten.
Vincent now joins up with Marc White’s side ahead of their home clash with Eastbourne Borough tomorrow evening in search of additional game time, having struggled for minutes since returning from an ankle injury.
The wing-back, who joined Sutton from Tonbridge Angels in the summer, had appeared in all but one game prior to Chris Agutter’s appointment in October, before playing a little over an hour in the Head Coach’s maiden match in charge away at Braintree Town.
He then suffered an injury in training which kept him out for the next four months, before returning to action in the Surrey Senior Cup Quarter-Final against Horley Town, and in total has appeared nine times this season.
Prior to his move to Sutton, Vincent began his career at Bromley and appeared a handful of times for the club, before being picked up by Portsmouth in 2022. He would be named on the Pompey bench nine times during his brief stint in Hampshire, but following a debut campaign which was marred by injury, primarily spent time out on loan with stints at Maidstone United, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Worthing, Chelmsford City and finally Tonbridge, where he initially moved to on a one-month deal before making the switch permanent.
A successful spell in Kent saw him score nine goals from the left wing, joint with Sean Shields as the club’s top scorer last term, and led to his move to the National League in the summer.
Good luck, Vinnie!
