Chris Haigh

Chris Haigh

Chris Haigh transferred from Chelmsford City to Sutton in January 2026.

The former Worthing stopper reunited with Chris Agutter following their stint at Woodside Park together, fulfilling a player/coach role by filling the void left by Andy Little following his exit in 2025, and Kyri Neocleous during the opening months of the 2025/26 campaign, with former Sutton keeper Clive Offer making the step up from the Academy to join Agutter’s backroom team in the meantime.

Started out as a young hopeful at Watford, Haigh moved onto Gillingham before embarking on a somewhat nomadic career that took in stops at Northwood, Braintree Town, Merstham, East Grinstead United, Maldon & Tiptree and Heybridge Swifts, picking up their Player of the Year award as they won the Isthmian North Play-Offs in 2018/19

That earned him a move up to Step 2 Concord Rangers and saw more honours come his way in the shape of 2021’s FA Trophy final; turning in a Man of the Match display as the Beachboys were edged out by then newly-promoted League Two side Harrogate Town.

He later spent a few years with Ebbsfleet United and won the National League South with them in 2023, before also securing promotion with Oxford City whilst on an emergency loan, prior to making the switch to Worthing in 2024.

The 28-year old went on to make 42 appearances for the Rebels, keeping 12 clean sheets in all competitions, before departing the club to join Chelmsford City in the summer, keeping a clean sheet on his debut in a 1-0 over Horsham, and in all appeared 20 times for the Clarets.
