Davide Rodari
Davide Rodari made the permanent switch to Sutton from Hampton & Richmond Borough in December 2025.
The striker reunited with manager Chris Agutter after working together at Hastings United, and made the switch from the Beavers having developed a stunning reputation in front of goal, netting a staggering 61 goals across all competitions over two seasons in Sussex.
Born in Switzerland, a stone’s throw away from his home in Novara, Italy, and with Italian and Dutch heritage, Rodari progressed through the youth academies of Inter Milan, Novara, Pro Vercelli and Lugano before relocating to England in 2016 to join Eastbourne Borough’s youth setup.
He signed for Hastings in February 2017 and became a key player across four seasons under Agutter, notching around 41 goals in 89 appearances and famously netting eight in a single cup match against East Grinstead in November 2019.
His form saw him earn a move to League Two club Crawley Town, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal as he made the jump up three divisions, and he went on to score once in 13 appearances for the Red Devils, before opting to exit West Sussex in search of increased playing time.
He subsequently enjoyed successive loan spells at Worthing, Dorking Wanderers and Dartford, notably scoring four goals in four starts for the former which prompted Crawley to briefly recall him, and was followed by a return to Worthing in time for him to contribute to the Rebels’ promotion to the National League South under Adam Hinshelwood, as well as a triumph in the Sussex Senior Cup.
Released by Crawley in May 2023, he returned to Hastings in August 2023, linking up with Agutter once more, and reaffirmed his goalscoring credentials across an extremely fruitful two seasons at the Pilot Field, including 18 league goals in 2024/25. He also broke Hastings’ goalscoring record, notching almost 40 the previous year, and saw him receive a host of plaudits for his instinct in front of goal.
As a result, Rodari declined a contract renewal at Hastings in favour of a move to the National League South, joining Hampton & Richmond Borough in the summer, and scored four goals in the opening six games of the season, before opting to return to full-time football after six months at the Beveree Stadium.
