Jack Wadham

Jack Wadham joined Sutton in June 2024 from AFC Bournemouth, having come through the ranks at Dean Court.

Having played for Weymouth Cougars from the age of seven after moving to England from Germany, Wadham later arrived at Dean Court as a ten-year old and played a leading role in the Cherries’ development squad. He helped his side go unbeaten in the Premier League Cup prior to his loan spell at Worthing last season, with Alan Connell’s team going joint top of the Professional Development League and reaching the quarter final of the Servio Hampshire Men’s Senior Cup.

He had previously captained the club’s Under-18s during the 2020/21 season and signed his first professional deal ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, following a loan spell in the Southern Premier South with Dorchester Town during the previous season in which he helped the Magpies retain their league status.

The 22-year-old would remain on the South Coast when he joined Worthing on loan midway through the 2023/24 campaign and appeared 17 times in the National League South as the Rebels reached the play-offs, with Wadham playing every minute in both the semi-final victory over Maidstone United as well as the final defeat against Braintree Town.

Despite the Mackerel Men destined for another campaign in the sixth tier, Wadham did find himself in the National League with a move to Sutton, making the move away from the South Coast for the first time and bringing an end to his 12-year stay at Bournemouth.

He went on to appear three times during the first half of the season including a start against Eastleigh, but otherwise struggled for minutes at the start of his Sutton career and returned to Worthing on loan in October, initially until January.

Wadham made five appearances for the Rebels during his month back at Woodside Road, contributing to three wins in the league as well as featuring in the FA Cup First Round against Morecambe, but was recalled a month after returning to Worthing and finally began to break at Gander Green Lane,

As a result, he ended his maiden campaign in South London with 41 appearances to his name in all competitions, and notably scored his first goal in a Man of the Match performance at home to Solihull Moors, notching the only goal of the game in his second appearance after returning.
