Sutton will host local rivals AFC Wimbledon for the second pre-season campaign in a row, promising a strong test against higher-league opposition on Saturday, 18th July (3pm KO).
In what will be the most high profile clash in the U’s 2026/27 schedule, the League One side return to Gander Green Lane after visiting in July 2025, with Ashley Nadesan and Siju Odelusi striking in a 2-0 win over a Dons side which included Osman Foyo, who appeared off the bench four months before joining the U’s on loan.
In a competitive capacity, Sutton last faced the Dons on Boxing Day 2023 with a second half goal from Omar Sowunmi being enough to secure a narrow victory at Plough Lane, and have otherwise taken part in a number of feisty affairs over the last few years.
Perhaps the most notable came in the famous 2016/17 FA Cup run, as late strikes from Roarie Deacon, Maxime Biamou and Dan Fitchett sealed a memorable 3-1 win at Kingsmeadow in the Third Round Replay, and set the U’s on their way to a win over Leeds United before facing Arsenal in the infamous Fifth Round clash at Gander Green Lane.
The clash with Wimbledon marks the final pre-season friendly to be announced, rounding out the U’s schedule ahead of the upcoming Enterprise National League campaign.
