Sutton went down to defeat at Boston this afternoon, Tom Cursons scoring the only goal just after half time, the recent signing from Harrogate dispossessing Jake Taylor on the edge of the Sutton penalty area and celebrating his home debut with a cool finish inside Jack Sims’s far post.

In a game of little excitement Lewis Simper came close to an equaliser soon afterwards with Sutton’s only on target shot of the game, a 20-yard effort (above) that was well saved by Andrew Wogan, while in the first half Sims fisted away a shot from Matty Carson, but Boston did enough to claim a win that moved them five points clear of the relegation zone and left Sutton, who have now not won in seven visits to Boston, outside the bottom four on goal difference from Braintree, who visit the VBS on Wednesday.
