Sutton and Brackley shared the points in a scrappy game at the VBS Community Stadium. Ashley Nadesan put Sutton ahead in the 9th minute, tapping in after debutant Jermaine Francis had scrambled a Kai Jennings centre across goal, but U’s had put themselves in trouble on the edge of their own penalty area more than once in the first twenty minutes and although they escaped when Ben Wodskou hit the post, they had no such luck when a Jack Sims pass was intercepted by Scott Pollock, who scored with ease.
Neither side did enough to win after that, Nadesan and substitute Davide Rodari having Sutton’s best chances and Sims making a good save at his near post from a Matt Lowe header.
