Three second half goals saw Sutton record a comfortable win against Wealdstone, U’s biggest win of the season, and move further away from the Enterprise National League’s relegation zone. After a first half in which U’s had been in control but had failed to create clear chances apart from a Kai Jennings shot cleared off the line in the first five minutes, Hayden Muller broke the deadlock five minutes in to the second half with his first Sutton goal, diving to head in Lewis Simper’s free kick. Simper added a second three minutes later, superbly controlling Besart Topallaj’s crossfield pass before cutting in and shooting in to the far corner of the net, and as U’s remained comfortable for much of the second half Jennings added the third three minutes from time when he put David Ogbonna through, and continued his run to head home the rebound when Ogbonna’s shot came back off the crossbar.
