Supporters are reminded to allow extra time as they plan their journeys towards the North East ahead, with temperatures set to plummet on Friday night, and snow and ice expected across the UK.

Sutton are set to take on Scunthorpe United in their first match of 2026, kicking off the year with a second ever trip to the Attis Arena on Saturday, 3rd January (3pm KO).

We would like to make people aware that our hosts are appealing for volunteers to assist with pitch preparation for Saturday’s game, intending to apply frost covers to help the ground staff team in protecting the pitch, giving the clash the best possible opportunity to go ahead.

While there currently isn’t a pitch inspection to take place, should this be required, we will update if necessary.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) had previously issued amber cold health alerts in the North East and North West of England, however, yellow alerts have been upgraded to amber across the East Midlands, West Midlands, South East, South West, East of England, Yorkshire and the Humber, and London. These warnings are in place until 10am on 6 January.

We implore supporters to anticipate delays due to the weather conditions and thus plan accordingly, but look forward to welcoming a packed out away end as we look to get off to a positive start to the new year.
