Hayden Muller is in contention to make his first Sutton appearance of the season this Saturday, having been recalled by Chris Agutter from his loan at Salisbury earlier today.

The defender wasn’t in Steve Morison’s plans at the start of the season and has therefore been absent from training throughout the campaign so far, however the arrival of Agutter has seen him join up with the rest of the First Team over the last couple of weeks in a bid to earn a place back at Gander Green Lane.

A brief stint at Salisbury has given him the chance to maintain his match sharpness, and he could go straight in to the team after impressing in training over the last week.

“He’s had a decent loan there [Salisbury], he’s been training with us and he’s been excellent so we’ve bolstered the squad in that respect, not just in terms of his contribution on the pitch but he’s a big character off the pitch so, another boost for the group and he’ll be in contention for selection tomorrow.”

Agutter will otherwise have a similar squad available to him from the two recent games against Farnham Town in the FA Cup, though with the additions of Dillon De Silva and Kane Crichlow who have both returned from international duty.

De Silva got on the scoresheet in one of Sri Lanka’s two clashes with Turkmenistan during the week, while Crichlow started both of Bermuda’s World Cup qualifiers against Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica, before reporting for training over the last couple of days in the build-up to the visit of Hartlepool.

Agutter has also provided an update on Alex Woodyard, who is back in training, While he hasn’t yet returned to full contact, the experienced midfielder isn’t a million miles away, which according to the Head Coach is something he is ‘really looking forward to’, with Woodyard set to be ‘a massive influence and a really important part of the journey ahead’.

Jack Sims and Eduino Vaz both remain unavailable with respective back and MCL injuries, along with Alex Kirk with his long-term back problem.
