Edon Pruti and Ashley Nadesan are both available for selection, having recovered from their respective injuries.

The former has been absent since the defeat to Solihull Moors shortly before Christmas after sustaining a fractured wrist during the challenge that saw him sent off, and meant he remained on the sidelines beyond his suspension.

His three-match ban will have come to an end with the defeat to York City in Sutton’s opening match of 2026, but after making strong progress in his recovery, has only missed one additional game with the last gasp draw against Forest Green Rovers last week, and could return to the side as Sutton prepare to take on Tamworth (Saturday, 24th January; 3pm KO).

Nadesan meanwhile has struggled with an ongoing knee problem that has seen him largely miss the last two months, last featuring in the league at the start of November with a crucial impact off the bench to secure a 2-2 draw with Morecambe, with the forward completing the comeback with the leveller with 16 minutes to go.

He had initially been named on the bench at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium due to a knock though, and barring a brief return in which he played injured against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup the following month, has otherwise remained absent for nearly three months now, with his return expected to be a big boost for Chris Agutter’s side.

“We’ve seen some really good progress. Medical team deserve a huge amount of credit because a few weeks ago we were banged up and I’ve never seen anything like it and those guys have worked incredibly hard to get those guys back fit and ready to play.”

Jack Taylor is still ‘touch and go’ according to Agutter, while Liam Vincent looks to be about two weeks away, having returned to non-contact training over the last couple of weeks.

Taylor was forced to play through a leg problem during the period in which only 58% of the squad were available, and has featured in every single game this season bar one, the defeat to Solihull in December, including playing nearly every minute.

The defender has finally been given a breather over the last couple of weeks though, missing the last three games including the postponed trip to Scunthorpe United, and looks to be edging closer to a return despite this weekend’s visit to The Lamb Ground likely coming too soon for him to be reintroduced, with enough players now available to fill the gap and facilitate a full recovery.

Vincent meanwhile is one of three long-term absentees this season, picking up an ankle injury in training which has kept him out since October.

The former Tonbridge Angels man has featured just once under Agutter as a result, last appearing in his opening match in charge against Braintree Town, but will see his long-awaited return on the horizon once he comes back to full training.

“Besart Topallaj has come in and done incredibly well and the best compliment I can give Bes is that we haven’t really missed Jack. We look forward to seeing Bes out there again and continue to build the momentum that he’s started since he rejoined the club.”

As a result, it means the only players who remain in the treatment room alongside Vincent are Jack Wadham (knee) and Alex Kirk (back).

The Head Coach also touched on the recent ins and outs within the squad, with quite a bit of movement taking place over the last couple of weeks.

Eduino Vaz (Hampton & Richmond Borough) and Alex Woodyard (Folkestone Invicta) have both departed the club on temporary deals until the end of the season, joining the long list of players currently out on loan, while Jaiden White (Hereford) and Siju Odelusi (Dover Athletic) have both returned to training after their brief time away came to an end. Despite this, Agutter remained coy in regards to their involvement going forward.

“The loans out are a combination of lads that need to play short-term who can help us longer term and also lads who I don’t think will be with us long-term so let’s give them the best opportunity possible to take the next steps on their journey by getting those guys out playing football and showcasing what they can do ahead of what will be an important summer for them.

At the moment the squad is bloated again even with the loans going out, but we also have to consider that we had an extraordinary injury and suspension crisis, so that meant we had to make a couple of additions.

In terms of players available we had the opportunity to pick a competitive squad and put a competitive side out there which we’ve done for the majority of the time, whereas now with Naders coming back fit, Liam Vincent coming back fit there will be a knock-on effect.

We need to keep evolving the squad and that won’t be settled until next season I’d imagine. We’re conscious of not looking too short-term and we end up with the same headaches longer term in terms of players that we don’t think will help us so we’re being very conscious of the players that we’re bringing in permanently, they’re on longer term deals and we believe they’re going to form a key part of the side which we’ll be putting on the pitch next season.”
