Chris Haigh will serve a one-match ban after being sent off on Tuesday night.

Despite being shown a straight red card, the nature of the incident means the goalkeeper will only have to miss one game as opposed to three, with Haigh committing a professional foul against Woking forward Matt Ward.

The 28-year old came in for Jack Sims to make his league debut for Sutton, but saw it ended after half-an-hour when a long ball from deep put Ward through on goal, with the former Chelmsford City man clashing with the onrushing attacker outside the box.

He was subsequently replaced by David Aziaya, who Chris Agutter has said is also nursing a leg injury, while Sims saw a reoccurrence of the back problem which kept him out of the side for three months earlier this season, giving the Head Coach an issue in between the sticks.

However, Agutter expects Sims to be fit, with the swift return of his number one being a huge boost for the Head Coach.

“With Simo I think we made a really good decision not risking a repeat of his previous injury because it looks like he’s going to be all good for tomorrow, which would be great news.

Equally, if there’s any unforeseen changes or mishaps in training, then we’ve obviously got David who I thought did a good job when he came on. So we’re in a good place.”

Charlie Bell is set to miss his second game following his own red card against Braintree Town, having begun his suspension midweek. The midfielder picked up his first red card of his senior career with a lunging challenge on George Langston and missed the clash with Woking as a result, which will be followed by two more games on the sidelines against Wealdstone and Yeovil Town.

The 18-year old has maintained his match sharpness by featuring for the academy against Southend United, and will return in time for the visit to FC Halifax Town.

Aaron Jones is still a couple of weeks away from returning, and means that he, along with Jack Wadham (knee) and Alex Kirk (back), are the only other absentees, with Agutter having a fully fit squad available for selection.
