Sutton United Football Club are delighted to announce that Lucy Clark has been nominated for the London & South East Regional Football League Premier Division Manager of the Month award for November.
The recognition comes as a result of another impressive run for the Women’s team, winning all but one game during the month to rise to fifth in the division.
The U’s kicked off November with a 1-0 victory over Dartford, with K’Shaela Burch-Waldron notching the winner with a tremendous flick over the goalkeeper that was nominated for Sutton’s Goal of the Month award.
This was followed by their first defeat since September, ending a nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions, but Clark’s side bounced back instantly, Emma Spear and Milly Cutler – the former again notching a Goal of the Month contender – securing a comfortable 3-0 win away at Newhaven.
Attention then switched to cup action, with Sutton putting Chessington & Hook United to the sword with an emphatic 11-1 win in the Combined Counties Women’s League Cup, shortly before making history by reaching the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Third Round for the first time, eliminating Bowers & Pitsea after a 3-2 triumph, with Cutler’s second half brace enough to evade the Essex side and secure a Third Round tie with Chatham Town.
Clark is joined by fellow nominees Joe Stacks and Liam Baptiste (Barking) and Martin O’Connell (Ashford Town (Middlesex)), and marks her second nomination of the season after doing so in October as well.
Congratulations, Lucy!
