Sunday was a day of success for our brilliant U13 girls,  who won through to the Surrey Cup Final with a 4-0 semi-final win against Goldsworth Park Rangers U13 Rubies.  Manager Dean said “it’s fantastic for the club and shows how much the girls’ hard work has paid off.”

It was very busy weekend of football for the Sutton United Community Team, starting at Walton on Saturday in the  FA South East Regional Disability Cup; Surrey FA group

The three Sutton United teams combined to form our 11-a-side team in a group against Fulham Mind  and Hampton and Richmond Borough. Three wins and a draw from these games saw us finish as winners of the Surrey FA group and go through to the Quarter Finals to be hosted by the Kent FA or Sussex FA .  The winners will then go through to Finals at St George’s Park.

Sunday saw two of our Community Teams visit Premier League Chelsea at their impressive Cobham Training Ground.

Sutton United A played 2 Elite Teams from the Chelsea Foundation with Sutton United winning one match 5-2 and the other game was a 2-1 win to Chelsea with some great football being played by both teams.

Sutton United Hunters enjoyed 3 games with a Chelsea League/Championship Team and again the games were close, with the Hunters winning 2 out of the 3 games.  The teams were evenly matched but some good finishing from Paul Leconte saw the Hunters have the edge over Chelsea.

It was a great occasion visiting Chelsea and with all the games very close and competitive we look forward in the return games at the Knights Community Stadium on the 24th March.
