Sutton United Football Club can confirm that Academy players Liam Moore and Mehmet Halim have both joined Isthmian League Premier Division club Whitehawk.
The Sussex-based side finished 14th at Step 3 last term, and strengthen their ranks with the arrivals of the Sutton duo ahead of their fourth successive season at their current level.
Moore has been a regular in the academy side for several seasons and made his senior debut in the Surrey Senior Cup win at Epsom in November 2023. In all he made nine senior appearances, five in the starting line-up, and was the club’s youngest first team captain when he led the players out in the National League Cup tie against West Brom in January 2025. He finished an injury-hit 2025/26 season in spectacular style, scoring with a brilliant free kick in the National League Academy Cup final against FC Halifax Town and then finding the net from inside his own half in the 3-1 league win over Welling United two days later.
Halim meanwhile joined the club at the start of last season at the end of a two year scholarship with West Ham United, and was on target regularly in academy games. He subsequently received a call-up to the first team when he was named on the bench away at Altrincham, before playing a full first team game against Brighton & Hove Albion in the National League Cup as well as being a half time substitute at Walton & Hersham in the Isuzu FA Trophy.
We would like to wish both players every success at their new club.
