Sutton’s Under-19 team extended their lead at the top of Division F of the National League Under 19 Alliance on Wednesday with a hard fought 3-2 win at Hitchin. The goals came from Daniel Jackson, Emmanuel Yeboah and Leon Dadey, and U’s are now eight points clear of Staines, who moved up to second with a 4-1 defeat of Leatherhead. The Under 19s have a week off next week and then entertain Romford in the League Cup on Wednesday 31 January.
Meanwhile the Under-21 side face a top of the table game in the Suburban League South on Friday evening against Molesey, kick off 7.45 at the Knights Community Stadium. The sides are level on points at the top of the table, although U’s have two games in hand, but Molesey did inflict U’s only league defeat at Walton Road earlier this season. U’s will field a number of players who featured in the Surrey Senior Cup success against Molesey earlier this month.
Next Monday sees the first trial of 2018 for recruits for the next academic year. Anyone interested should email Marvin Williams on marvin@knightsltd.co.uk
