Sutton United Football Club can confirm the departure of Hayden Muller, who has joined a fellow Enterprise National League club following the conclusion of his contract.

Muller initially arrived at Gander Green Lane ahead of the 2024/25 campaign and departs as Sutton’s current longest-serving player, joining the club in July 2024 ahead of the U’s opening pre-season friendly against Tonbridge Angels.

He went on to appear 31 times in his maiden campaign, forming a solid partnership at the back with the likes of Tyler French, Alex Kirk, Harry Ransom and Besart Topallaj, before joining Salisbury on loan in August 2025 after being frozen out of the side under Steve Morison.

However, the arrival of Chris Agutter brought an astonishing resurgence in South London, having played nine times across a successful two months in Wiltshire. After being recalled, he went on to become one of the most important players in the side under the former Worthing boss, racking up a further 30 appearances during 2025/26 as a defensive midfielder, establishing his quality and versatility by forming a superb relationship with Jake Taylor in the centre of the park.

This also included his first goals for the club, getting off the mark with a bullet header in a 3-0 win over Wealdstone, before notching his second days later away at Yeovil Town, scoring the leveller on the stroke of half time after James Daly had put the Glovers ahead.

Prior to his move to Sutton, Muller had begun his career with Millwall, with whom he joined as a schoolboy, and progressed to make his EFL debut on the final day of the 2019/20 season. He made three more senior appearances for the Lions before spending the first half of the 2021/22 season on loan in Scotland at St. Johnstone, before moving over to Ireland on a permanent basis, joining Dundalk in January 2023, where he made around 50 appearance for Lilywhites.

Despite an offer of a higher contract at Gander Green Lane, Muller has opted to depart South London ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, and we would like to thank him for his efforts in amber and chocolate.

All the best for the future, Hayden!
