Sutton United Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Temi Babalola, who joins on a permanent transfer from Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee.
The striker, who stands at 6ft3in, reunites with Chris Agutter following their time together at Worthing, and will offer the Head Coach a towering physical presence in the forward line at Gander Green Lane.
Having spent the bulk of his early career in Essex, Babalola began with stints at Woodford Town, Romford, Brentwood Town and Concord Rangers, notably leading the line alongside Chris Haigh and Lewis Simper in the FA Trophy Final against Harrogate Town, before joining Hampton & Richmond Borough in 2022 having scored nine times for the Beach Boys. Four months in the capital then preceded a brief return courtesy of a loan move to Aveley, before making the switch to Cheshunt in 2023.
Two stints in Hertfordshire, courtesy of moves to the Ambers and Potters Bar Town, sandwiched a spell at nearby Haringey Borough, before returning back across the North London border to enjoy a prolific spell with the Scholars that procured 11 goals in 31 appearances; including an FA Trophy hat-trick on his debut.
However, Babalola opted to move back to familiar territory with Billericay Town – his sixth Essex-based side, where he announced his arrival by netting a debut brace in a pre-season friendly, before moving to fellow Isthmian Premier team Bowers & Pitsea, with his move bringing two goals in only four matches, one of which helped his temporary club into the Essex Thameside Trophy Final.
Despite this, a move to West Sussex resulted in a jump up the divisions, joining National League South outfit Worthing in 2024. The imposing forward reached double figures for goals in his first season with the Rebels, netting 11 times across all competitions, and his form at Woodside Road saw him scoop up the Young Player of the Season honour at the end of it.
He subsequently followed this up with a further eight goals in 14 appearances in 2025/26, before impressing in Worthing’s televised defeat against Forest Green in the Emirates FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round. As such, Robbie Savage opted to bring him to The New Lawn less than a week later, with Babalola going on to appear 24 times for the club, scoring four times.
After agreeing his move to South London, Babalola said:
“Really delighted to be here. I can’t wait to work with the gaffer and his staff to achieve what we’ve set out to achieve.”
Chris Agutter added:
“A monster of a man, big, powerful and so strong – a proper target man centre forward that the Amber Army will love watching.
I absolutely love him as a player and person; Temi is a magnificent addition.”
Welcome to Sutton, Temi!
